Training routes vary by employer and location. These are the main steps to investigate before you enrol.

Care Certificate
The industry entry qualification. Covers 15 standards of care. Often provided free by employers during your first 12 weeks.

Level 2 Health & Social Care
Formal qualification demonstrating competence. Often funded or free for eligible learners.

DBS Check
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, required for all care roles. Your employer typically arranges and pays for this.
